I have had struggles in my life like everyone else.
I believe we can make a choice as to how we think about them. We can then, in turn, handle, these struggles, adversities, and anxieties. I have been on a long journey of living out of fear; of succumbing to anxiety, and doing whatever I could to avoid pain. Afterall, that is what we as a species do; we avoid pain and seek pleasure.
One day I realized this wasn’t serving me, it wasn’t getting me anywhere. I needed to instead, accept, and even welcome things I perceived as potentially anxiety producing and change my mind about them.
Did you get that?
Change my mind about these thoughts.
Now, am I saying I no longer had these feelings? No, I am saying I examined these feelings and then observed the thoughts that created them.
Because I have learned the key…

While this seems like an easy concept, I learned most people don’t have the knowledge to override the primitive instinct to seek pleasure and avoid pain.
